Since I’ve been on but I’ve been pretty busy so you’ll have to understand. I’m in college full time for music education so I keep running out of time to post things. However, here I am!
I have this one customer who has ordered a cake every weekend for the past month. Go figure. She orders the same one every time, so I’ve gotten pretty darn good at dark chocolate with chocolate chips and buttercream frosting. I’ve actually mastered it. H
This is the cake from two weeks ago… first birthday!!!
She ordered one 9″ round for the adults, and a 6″ round for the little munchkin to demolish 🙂
And this is the cake from today that she ordered… Another birthday for her friend. I was messing around with the rose technique and it turned out pretty well. Have a look.
I’ve also done some cupcakes, nothing for orders though just for a friend’s birthday and such. Not really worth taking pictures of, they were delicious looking as always!
Thanks for following, and go check me out on facebook at As Baked By Sara!
So get this.
I wanted to make cupcakes to bring to my dear friends tonight for letting me stay in their house for the evening so I made these awesome cupcakes!
(vanilla with white chocolate in the middle)
But as it turns out… I was out of powdered sugar. So I have naked cupcakes! 😦
I’m now Facebook linked… Go check it out and like my page!!!
Here are the photos from the actual christening today with everything on display at Libertore’s in Westminster, MD.
Today, I had my first real commission! I had to make 8 dozen cupcakes, and one 9″ round birthday cake for a Christening. It was beautiful. My cupcakes were perfect. They were beautiful. Just look at these things!
I had to make 2 dozen of dark chocolate cupcakes (with chocolate chips in the middle… the favorite of this account holder) with a vanilla buttercream…
2 dozen red velvet with a cream cheese frosting… (these had white chocolate chips in the middle!)
2 dozen vanilla, with a vanilla buttercream… I used a tie-dye technique with the frosting, and had sugar pearls in light blue to decorate!
And finalllllly… My favorite cupcake ever, which I call the “Sweet ‘n’ Salty” is a dark chocolate, with a peanut butter buttercream, drizzled with caramel, sprinkled with peanuts and sea salt.
And this is the cake. It was really detailed… She didn’t really give me any instruction on what the colors were or anything, so I just went with my gut. (Dark chocolate, buttercream, green and gray dyed icing)
And that was my first day as real life baker!
Thanks to Amy Sweat for being my awesome assistant. She is the best! 🙂
